    lincoln mark 7 motor

    i friend of mine found me a lincoln mark 7 5.0 h.o. what is the difference between that motor and the one in my 1990

    I know that the pistons were different in the Mark 7's.

    Depends on what year. My 88 had the same engine as a GT, even the factory TRW forged pistons, same headers ,cam,and intake.

    Better make sure its a H.O. engine...some where and some werent. its ts not then its only 175hp with different firing order,cam,pistons and more.

    All mark 7 motors after 86 or 87 were H O motors , stay away from 84 and 85, they are the non H O motors

    90-92 have forged crank and pistons, all lsc's are H.O. all of they 87-91's Ive owned had different pullies- larger crank and small alt for all the elec. junk on the cars.

    i think its a 90 h.o. so is that the same as in my 90 gt

    It would be the same, except probably not as abused as one in a mustang.

    How could I find out what year mark VII motor I have. I junked the car and forget what year it was.
    95 Mustang gts... Cobra intake,GT40P heads, F-cam, sds efi, 60lb injectors, Garrett turbo 11lb's!!!

    the blocks have a year marked on them bear the motor mount pad, also you can look under the head near the pushrod tubes, you need a mirror to see it with the heads bolted on..

    Were the cranks forged? I didn't think any factory 5.0 motors had forged cranks.
