Picked up a new toy/DD over the weekend... DUW

I had been looking for a cheap yet nice used 94-95GT for a few months and luck just wasn't on my side. I wanted another car that I could drive around and enjoy and not worry about unlike my current '95. I also wanted something that I could autox on the weekends. In the end I realized that I didn't need, nor could I fit another car into my life. My DD focus ZX3 was getting up there in miles and out of the blue Troy called me to tell me about a car that had just been traded at a local dealership. Well, I signed the papers on Saturday and its now mine! :) This car replaced my '02 focus as my DD, and it will also serve as my weekend autox car.

Its an '03 SVT focus with HID headlights, winter package which consist of heated seats, traction control, an engine block heater... it also has the 6 disc upgraded audiophile system with a sub in the back, and a moon roof. its a 6 speed, it has 170hp/145tq, redlines at 7200, and weighs in at around 2750lbs. This car is a blast to drive and I think it was the perfect decision for me. Anyway, here are some pics...

Rob- I plan to. All I want to do with this car is:
1. Tint the windows
2. Buy winter tires to go my old 16" ZX3 wheels (I kept them and traded the old car with the black steel wheels I used to run in the winter)
3. Buy some good brake pads and perhaps stainles steel brake lines (for autox)
4. Buy another set of wheels/tires dedicated to autox
5. Down the road I want to buy a predator tuned by this guy named Tom. Its supposed to cure a lot of the little problems with the stock tune and help the car pick up a LOT of midrange power.

Ed- I know man... I love black but after owning a black mustang I swore that i wouldn't own another black car and now I have this SVTF and our black ford edge we bought in the summer. :(

Nice ride Paul! I didn't know that you have an Edge. We bought one in the summer and we love it! Did you get the vista roof? We love that option!

I'm curious of the fuel mileage too...i had considered buying one a while back but the advertised fuel mileage was the same as a 99+ GT 5-speed.

Looks nice....always a bonus to have a car that small on an autocross course.

I'm guessing that it being FWD may be a dissadvantage when it comes to autocross. In my experiences, FWD cars do not like to come off a hard corner without spinning the front wheels badly and pushing the front end away from the turn.

ed, some front wheel drive cars do really well at auto-x and his car even has traction control, i have raced my escort gt more than my svo .now to see if paul can keep up in the 4 banger lol
