Its in production. The first ones will be for the 2009 model year, so I would guess you will see them on the streets around August.

You can go into a dodge dealer, drop some cash, and reserve your place for one, but I think almost all the ones slated for 2009 have already been sold.

I forgot about the challenger when I made this thread. Funny too because I just got into an argument with a friend of mine who is "iMp0rTz 4 lYfe, y0!" and thinks that american quality is still stuck at 1985 levels. Anyway, he said it wasn't going to handle as well as imports in the price class. I promptly owned him by showing him they are using the same suspension that will be on the Mercedes E class starting sometime between 2010 and 2012.

Dodge Challenger SRT8 is being made now and is a 2008 model. Last I read over 6000 SRT8's have been ordered. 2009's will have v6 and 5.7 hemi. I will be looking at these cars when the 09's are available.
