Found this to be quite interesting. Guy wrings out an 07 GT M5 with the stock Pirelli's 235/55/17's. There are a bunch of naysayers talking shit about the D/A and the tracks where he attains the #'s. What do you expect though, they are running over a half a second slower
Anyway, in showroom stock form he managed a best of:
Race weight: 3,700 with driver
60' 2.031
330' 5.730
660' 8.743
MPH 81.92
1000' -----
1320' 13.495
MPH 103.31
With the factory 3.55's in the 8.8" rear and the stock Pirelli's two mods were executed.
JLTII+Bama (Mailorder) Tune: 2.017 5.487 8.382 @ 85.11 12.973 @ 107.09
Track: Montgomery (AL) Motorsports Park 171' ASL
Conditions: 50F 45% 30.22 -658DA
PCM Settings: Bama Race 93 TCS Delete / In Gear Limit 7200 rpm / Out of Gear 6800 rpm
Operation: 3500 rpm launch slipping clutch, (1-2)6800, (2-3)6500, (Trap)6500
According to the guys sig he has improved with a slight reduction in e.t.
signature's best:
1.909 8.345 @ 84.83 12.957 @ 106.62
Breakdown:
Conditions: 171' ASL 56F 38% 30.06 -71' DA
(60') 1.909
(330') 5.443
(1/8) 8.345 @ 84.83
(1000') 10.845
(1/4) 12.957 @ 106.62
Another board member where the this info was attained who goes by the screen name of Amercian Speed has the quickest e.t. to date with these mods:
American Speed ran his 12.8 with a VMP Tune and a K&N "No Tune Required" CAI.
Its pretty restrictive and Im thinking he could go a 12.9 without it. He doesnt get as
good of air as I do but with a 1.81 on Stock Tires (Ouch!) He doesnt need it.
I'm loving it!! There is no better compliment than one of dis-belief. It goes to show that with the correct amount of clutch/throttle modulation, dialed in shift-points, and the ability to hit the next gear quickly produces sub-13 sec. e.t.'s with minimal mods!
