Balaska, you'll be ready, at least by the week after. Greg and I only dropped the block4-5 times, once on the box of rods and pistons, once on the crank. They'll be fine. :D
Obviously, I don't know all your situations on what your problems are with PRP. I love the place. All I can ask is, playing devil's advocate, are you getting there before the runs start? Or are you getting there 2 hours after and expecting the same number of runs as someone who was there when the gates opened? When you have a problem, are you talking to the track personell in the way you would want to be talked to, or should you give your emotions a couple minutes to cool off?
BTW, FWIW, on the TnT weekends, I've never gotten less than 4 runs, same for Wednesday nights. Also, in '08, the Weds night test n tunes will not have gambler's races. Ran outs will be made up on Friday nights.
I'm always there before racing starts, and have average 2-3 at most runs. I went once when the weather was threatning and got 6 runs because of lack of attendance. That was three years ago. Since then it seems if there is a rain drop in Columbus Ohio they will cancel the T&T because they can't make the usual small fortune from a full house. As a whole (I'm sure there are some decent people there) the management acts like T&T is just a pain in the ass to them and NEVER treat street cars with the respect that someone who just just dropped 30-50 bucks to race and eat a cheeseburger there deserves. It is disgraceful , but won't change because there is still attendance because it's the only local track. I used to go there every other week when I got my Mach, now I go max twice a year just to enjoy some track action, but then I'm reminded what it's like there and not go back. Sorry for the rant, but that's my .02
im hoping i can have my shit back together by then. i want some times this year.

I recommend keeping it civil while stating your points. That and I think the few other things people have complained about about will be gone after this season. 2009 will be amazing I think, 6 1/2 months and it all will begin to change.
Remember its a short season at PRP as track is closed mid september for construction.

Quote "Well during the year I'm hoping to get started on the tower side with moving the mountain down by the playground to accomodate a 700 x 700 paved pro parking area for the National Event. You know the pro's need asphalt, electric, and water and lights.( lots of earth moving) The property next door will be the new entrance( up by 22 ), you'll come in down by the playground.
That's also why we are closing at the end of Sept., to get started with work. The starting line goes backward about 250' all new bigger burnout boxes, the first 1/8 mile gets done in concrete with the rest of the track getting repaved through the shutdown. Concrete barrier walls, more lighting, speakers. The existing tower is gone with a new 3 story tower going up by the street staging lanes complete with corporate suites on top floor. More bleacher seating with a very large building going in on tower side behind the bleachers to accommodate another cafe on that side with souviners and a video game room. Staging lanes getting bigger and longer on BOTH sides.
I know there's more and I'm forgetting something but that's the gist of it. You won't recognize the place after 4-6 months."

FYI...
Opening Weekend moved to April 5, 2008Opening Weekend for Pittsburgh Raceway Park has been delayed. Due to the ground conditions and the amount of precipitation that has occurred over the last few weeks, it is unsafe to open the track. We apologize for any inconvenience. We hope that you all will understand our decision to delay opening.
We are planning re-opening Pittsburgh Raceway Park on April 5, 2008. This day will be Test n Tune Day, an Auto Parts flea market, and Swap meet. There will be NO GAMBLERS RACE on Saturday. However, Sunday April 6, 2008, we will have a GAMBLER’S RACE, along with our Regular Test n Tune.
The Racer’s meeting will be held on Sunday April 6, 2008 at Carmen’s Café, instead of the Mar 30, 2008. The time will be 5 p.m. Please mark your calendars accordingly.
The I.H.R.A. chassis certifications are being performed on the March 29 only! If you had scheduled a chassis certification for Sunday March 30, 2008, please contact the track for re-scheduling. The gates on Saturday March 29, 2008 Chassis Certifications will be open at 9 a.m. This date is not affected by any of the “Track Opening” delays. We appreciate your patience and understanding for all of the above changes. We look forward to seeing you all at our April 5th opening.
Thank you, Track Management.
