    jeep oil psi gauge

ok so i went to walmart for a quick oil change. ( i know stupid me) but anyways...my oil psi gauge worked fine going in. then coming home i hit the interstate and the gauge pegged well past 80 psi. i freeked and stopped to check, what i could see in dark. when i shut it off the gauge didnt drop either. everything looked fine, no smells or nothing. so then about 3/4 way home it pummeted to 0 psi. luckily i was just down the road and pulled it in. i called and told them whats up and am now going to check the gauge again on start up.

anything i should note or check? thoughts and opinions?
