    Ordered My New Combo

I can't wait for this to be delivered:
-347 shortblock being built by Woody at Fordstrokers, 5.315" rod, flat top pistons
-Custom billet core hydraulic roller cam by Jay Allen at Camshaft Innovations
-Canfield 195 heads, 58cc chambers, full competition bowl blend, Ferrea valves, Comp cam springs and titanium retainers, by Jay Allen

Heads and valvetrain will be shipped to fordstrokers for final assembly, then the longblock will be shipped to me.

    Goal is 11.50's N/A in a 95 with a Tremec 3550 and 4:10 rears.
Only downfall is there is a 3 month lead time on the shortblock.
    The wait begins..........

What factors influenced the engine to be built around the shorter rod vs. the 5.4" rod deal?

It eliminates the piston pin from intersecting the oil ring land. Apparently, this was the fix to the early 347's with the 3.400" rod and their inherent blow-by problem.

Mike, I met you this past summer at the Hereford and Hops cruise at Cranberry.

I'll stop by your office once this thing is completed!

I also have the 5.315 rodded Probe kit in my 347. That combo sounds real good and similar to mine except I have the AFR 185's and went with an Anderson cam. What headers and intake are you going with? I have Hooker long tubes and a Systemax.

    Thanks for the comments, guys.

I am going to end up using a Trick Flow Track Heat intake, 75mm throttle body, 80mm Lightning MAF, and 36 lb/hr injectors. The cam was designed in conjunction with these components.

As for exhaust, I will initially leave my current system in place, which is Mac 1 5/8" EL shorties, BBK x w/cats and Mac cat-back. I know that I am leaving power on the table with the shorties. If they weren't the equal length, I would def be going long tube.

    I also have a 75mm TB, and the LMAF(mine is 90mm).

I only went to long tubes for sound reasons - my BBK EL shorty headers sounded raspy at 3,000 rpms. Hoping for the ultimate sound out of my LT's. I can't wait to get my new dyno numbers. Is spring here yet?
