    HAHAHAH Got that right broddah.

That was one of me kills when I was N/A this past summer. I handed the rear end to him. I would almost say he wasnt even trying but I saw the front comming up and down with each shift. (It was a 6-speed).

yes it would mostly be a daily driver, since after this accident i do not have another vehicle and would rather not daily drive the mustang.. Its not going to be a race car and i am not planning any mod list just need something with alil bit just to get me by until i leave school and need something better on gas and lil better in snow and i am thinking with the traction control that would help alot, but that auto is the only thing right now that is making me re-think all of it.

something better on gas and better in the snow?

so you're looking into 400 hp RWD cars. that makes alot of sense.

Don't know what your budget is if you go the GTO route however this seems to be a great deal ....no reserve:

I wouldnt get an auto, i think you'll be bored... but i'd get bored in any auto car...

The LS1 autos are mid-high 13 second cars dead stock, and the LS1 engine is very easy to mod to make very fast.... I think i've read that the autos are actually a little faster than the manuals b/c they dont have near as much trouble with wheel hop as does the 6-speed... which, my buddies LS2 goat has major issues with... The weight is the only disadvantage (along with their bland looks) - they're very comfy cars tho

500 to the wheels and high 11's. The curb weight exceeds the capacity of some bridges. They look like a jelly bean. And their chassis is garbage for the dig. Other than that, they're alright.

Yea, b/c we've never seen a 500+rwhp cobra run low 12's or high 11's... actually happens more often than not.... but you don't see me saying they're dyno-queens... you are truly the master of taking a SINGLE example and trying to spread it across an entire line to make other people's cars look like shit... I'm not defending GTO's, b/c i DON'T really like them honestly

weight? 3725 curb weight is a whopping 60 lbs more than a Cobra....

sorry if people don't apologize that not everyone wants a gutted, tubbed out, slicks & skinnies, ugly, ancient car.... You completely brand loyal people make me laugh - and i speak of not just ford guys, but chevy guys too.... its rediculous

sorta off topic....I emailed a dealership selling an 06 GTO on Ebay that's in pristine condition. The center console has a toggle switch with a red cover plate over it....so I email the "dealer" asking what the red toggle switch is for and I get a 3 word response via email..... "it's for looks"

Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?!? The car has an AEM intake and a red toggle switch as far as add-ons are concerned (from what I can tell). Thus I gotta assume it had nitrous............

    haha, that's great!!

i wonder how many times he's flipped the switch pretending he's on the F&F

That pic brings up another thing... i didnt really like the feel of the T56 on the GTO, but that's a preference thing, not necessarily a problem

I gotta admit I like the GTO's for what they are. It's a great 400hp everyday driver. You can take it the the track (autocross or drag) and drive it to work comfortably. I'm a car/bike nut though and like just about anything on 2 or 4 wheels that is performance oriented.

Two things I hate about the GTO would be the cheap looking "Hotwheels" style wheels, and the small wheel well openings on the rear fenders. Yeah the look overall resembles a Pontiac G5 or some sort of beatle.... It's a really good car used ..as far as "bang for your buck" goes.

just my 2cents.....but as we all know, opinions are like a$$h0!e$.....everyone has one! oh and vote republican so it stays that way LOL

I've driven the GTO in auto/stick with the LS1 and LS2. You can read all about "TORQUE MANAGEMENT" over at ls1tech.com. It's sorta like a mystery. The only model that I think does NOT have any sort of TM is the LS1 with 6-speed. The LS1/6M feels like it got more balls to me cause you can chirp/spin 1-2 and 2-3. The LS2/6M throws a wet blanket on you when you go 1-2. It feels like the car dies. This is with the traction control OFF. The TM is in the tune. You have to get it tuned out with an aftermarket tune/chip. The autos... forget about it. Feels like it's running into a wall of pillows when it shifts.

The LS1 still got the throttle cable too, so I think some of the feel is in my head?????????????

    Just my opinion, of course.
