    changing a auto to 5speed

How hard is this to do to an 89 5.0? Also how much does it cost to make the swap?

To tell you the truth, the gat damn pedal assembly could very well be the hardest part. The cost is a big "depends". T-5's that need rebuilt could go for a little more than a 100 bucks. It just all depends on the quality and new vs. used, etc....

I just did that to my 90. As PureStock says, the pedal assemb. IS the hardest part. Its more of a pain than anything. I did an AOD-TKO-600 swap from AMP performance. It included all the parts and pieces needed to do it.

Anyone know where to locate a pedal assembly? I plan to convert my AOD '90GT from an AOD to a T5. Luckily I have a bell, clutch, flywheel, and tranny laying around so all I'll need are the pedals.

The auto EEC will not need to be changed correct? I think its when going from a 5 speed to an auto that it needs to be swapped... anyone know for sure?

You can use either EEC. You will need to change the wiring harness that goes from the tranny into the car though. Be prepared, cause they are getting expensive ($75 and up) when you find them.

Its not bad, pedals are the worst, especially if you are a big dude. Good tip is to take the drivers seat out, makes alot easier to get under the dash. All the connectors for the 5-speed are in the car, such as nuetral safety and so on, they have a pigtail connecor plugged into the other end of them. When i converted to tremec, i kept my auto comp, and i didn't need the tranny harness, just the small section of wire to make the reverse lights work. Hope this helps a little. Here is a real nice writeup in detail on this process, http://www.wcfords.com/articles/tech/t5swap/t5swap.html
