fuel rail question - do i cut or what?

On my 3.8 v6 it seems like on the feed side and return side of the fuel rails there is some weird compression fitting of some kind. Does anyone know the magic to get the piece of rubber tubing off thats still attached to each end? I messed with it for a while and I (still) havent got a service manual for it, and even the fitting guru had a tough time sorting it out.

    Any help appreciated.

ps - anyone got a good how-to for clutch reassembly? :)

Yeah those are the ford quick disconnects. You can pick up the tools at most parts stores. The tools work on both fuel and a/c lines.

That's to get the whole fitting off. As far as getting the plastic line off well that line is shrunk on to the fitting. You can cut it off. What I usually do is carefully split the line and peel it off. The fittings themselves are what you need the tools for.

If you can get the whole line off. You could boil the fitting end and pull off the plastic line when it gets plyable enough. I did that to some fuel line fittings and it worked pretty good. Don't let it get to hot though.
