    SHO Stoppa resurrection commences

3.0 Liters of DOHC power has a pulse.

Pulled most of interior today to clean. Trans.will be addressed next. Here's some pics of the progress. Street raced this car for years back in the mid to late 90's. Buried Quad 4 Grand Ams, and showed a 5-speed 87 speed density my tail lights. Hell, the sound of 7,300 rpm shifts did more than blow his doors off he wrecked the S.O.B. We won't disclose who this fine young gentlemen is, unless viper_ed cares to share the story.

ive had a few of these cars and i loved them. just dont do monster burnouts with with them as the transmissions dont hold up very good. dont ask me how i know that . they run good for weighing 100,000 lbs.

I always wondered if you could transplant this motor into a SVO mustang. It would probably be lighter than the turbo-4 2.3. Pointless yes but, i wondered...

Its sort of been done, although not to a SVO (blasphemy). Some of the Merkur guys have done it too. Now there is a pointless swap into a pointless car :D The one I saw came out pretty good.

BTW - Just about anything is lighter than the 2.3T, they are heavy. Like an aluminum headed 5.0 is in the same leage, surely the yamaha 6 is lighter.

Looking good Joe. Are you going to replace the rear main seal while you're in there? If you're going to keep the car, you should consider getting a ceramic throw out bearing. The stock TOBs tend to crap the bed and tear up the fingers on the pressure plate. The ceramic TOB runs about $90, but it guarantees you won't be replacing the clutch ( due to pressure plate destruction ) in 20k miles or less. If you're interested in getting one let me know - I'll look thru my paperwork and try to find it - I think I bought it from SHONutPerformance.com
