    Mass Air Question?

Ok, well i was told by numerous people that i wouldnt be able to add anymore airflow to my car without messing things up, unless i converted to mass air ('87 speed density car) so what i was wondering was, if i bought a pro m 75mm mass air meter caliberated for 24# injectors and 24# injectors what else would i need to be fully converted to mass air??

    Thanks SCS!!

beings your car is an 87 you can only get a mass air engine harness from an '89 5.0

    87-89 the same
    90 stands all alone
    91-93 the same

will need the engine harness and the computer (try to find a a9L, this is a good computer

if you dont want to do the whole harness deal.. you can get just the maf pigtail off ebay and has some decent instructions for moving pins around in the ECU connector.. then all you would need is the MAF, injectors and cpu....

another thing if you do go mass air then make sure you pull the vacuum line off your map sensor and plug the line.

Keep it speed density, you can make power with it.

either go mass air or carb

i've never done the H/C/I combo on a speed density car so im not 100% sure but from what i've been told, S.D. computers wont accept the mods like mass air. someone can chime in if im wrong here..

from what i have heard speed density will make more power but you MUST get your car well tuned, you can not just bolt on mods and make good power like you can with mass air. but once again i have no experience with this so maybe someone can tell me if im wrong

if u plan to actually do all that then it will be in your best interest to go mass air

in the long run, if your plans pan out, MAF is the way to go...

you can modify the SD engines a good bit.. The cam is where you are limited to a handful of choices that will retain good driveability.. i've seen Alphabet cams in SD cars and they stall out at every other redlight... I personally put down 240rwhp on a mustang dyno w/ GT40P heads, cobra intake, 65mm Tbody and a bunch of bolt ons. I researched the crap out of the SD systems before doing anything. and the crower 15511 cam is the absolute best choice if sticking with Speed density... Car would never stall and just had a touch of hunting occasionally to the idle and pulled hard(ask Fast4ord) cuz it outran his trickflow headed 5.0... it was tuned on the dyno and fuel pressure was raised pretty high.. I converted to MAF when i decided to add the blower, and thats when it all turned to crap after the tuner blew it up on the dyno and got screwed for over a year trying to get it right...... if you have any questions on speed density, shoot me a PM... It wont hurt you to keep the stock cam, and throw the trickflow heads and intake on and get an AFPR until you get your blower...

so it will be fine to keep it sd, and put heads/cam on now, as long as i go with a sd cam? because the supercharger wont come for awhile most likely due to parents saying my car doesnt need to be any faster, (lol) and not enough funds right now anyways.. lol.. but really its either heads or supercharger for now.. and i think it would be smarter to do heads first, to make sure they can hold up to the boost when the supercharger comes into play, instead of trying to use stock heads.. and blowing shit up.. lol
