    legal advice?

ok we have been getting collection calls from companies looking for some Tina lady. We have had this number for over 3 years. This ladies number is one digit off from ours. These collectors are becoming fvking rude and hatefull...acting like my wife is tina and saying she is a bad mom and shiit tonight. im pissed

they call daily....we have giving them the correct number but they dont believe us. we have sent this tina lady a certified letter about the problem and it still continues. what can we do?

Can you do call blocking of their phone numbers? I would call your phone company and see if they have any ideas. I do know that you can place a recording that callers hear before your phone rings.

i dont want to change i number we have had for 3+ years. then i have to contact everyone and change it. it really sucks.

i doubt the recording will work as they dont believe us anyways.

we have caller id so we normally dont answer but they call sooooo much. cant block the number since it shows up as 'UNKNOWN'

When I got a new company cell phone a few years ago, apparently Verizon recycled the number from someone that was often looked for ;) I started by just telling them wrong number, etc, but they just kept calling back. I finally started responding very sternly that they had reached me in error, that this was a company porvided cell phone, and that any further calls to my number would be viewed as harrasment because they have been notified. I had several tell me that they where deleting the number from their system while I was on the phone. It still took some time, but after about a year, I geuss it all cycled through.

Get an answering machine and screen your calls. Also get yourself on the do not call list if you aren't already.

wow. that really sucks. I would definately ask for their supervisor and tell them that if their company keeps calling that you will press charges for harassment being as you (well..steph...) are not tina. I don't know what you could charge them with but I'd imagine if you call your local PD they would know.

this may be drastic but it is within your rights.

There is a number you can hit. I think its *57 or something, that after the call is completed reports it to the phone company as a harrassment call.

after every time they call, use this service. All it takes is 3 or more calls and its harrassment.

you can also record the conversations so that you have evidence. they monitor the calls "for quality and training purposes" so you can too.

This is going to be awesome... next time they call, tell them you ain't never paying those 4ucking bills and you got a 12-gauge shotgun with their name on it. Come on over any time muther4uckers.

Best part is... Tina will be the only one that gets in trouble. Just give it right back to them. When they start talking about sheriffs and liens and credit blocks... tell them you don't give a shit, you'll hide out in your meth lab with that s/g just waiting for some visitors.

First of all.....they cannot do anything to you no matter what. This leaves you two choices which im pretty sure were already covered...but
    You can A) Ignore it.

    B) Harass them back.

    C) Threaten legal action because of the harassment....and i would definitely start recording these calls without warning as the things they say are definitely offensive. Give them a warning, and if it wont stop, sue em : )

Verizon did that to me, They keep signing up people with my phone number and i would get their Text messeges and the other person would get my phone calls. Took a while to figure it out.

Frustrating, until recently it's been all good.
