Be VERY careful when removing them. There are aluminum strips inside of them that will bend very easy and then they's junk.

If you buy used molding you have to remove the metal strip that holds the adhesive on the molding. You will need two people, a torch with map gas, and a pair of pliers to pull on the metal strip. Be careful NOT to get them to HOT. Patience is key. The map gas will loosen the adhesive holding the metal strip to the molding.

You need to do this to re install them on the car otherwise they will look like shit. Then re install the double side 3M molding tape and reapply to the doors. Its not that bad of a process. Good Luck

FYI, if you don't reinstall the metal strips, the door moldings will actually shrink almost an inch over time.

After finding some of this info the hard and expensive way, I ended up buying 2 NOS strips from ebay for about $190. Even those weren't molded all that great. They had small bumps near the ends and the 3 pieces that were molded together to get each side had poor joints.

Your right about them shrinking Ed. But the ones I did only shrunk about 3/8 or 1/2 of and inch. Anyway, its better than buying reproduction.
