    Water temp sensor help!?

Ok, well i just removed the water temp sensor (right of dist. on lower intake) so i could put my mech. water temp quage in, and when i had everything tightened up i removed my pressure cap on radiator to check coolant level, and coolant started to come out of where i just put the mech water temp gauge rod thing... did i do something wrong that coolant is coming out of there!? or what??

    Need help asap!!

Did you use teflon tape on the threads? If you did, did you wrap it the opposite way it threads so it doesn't come undone when you thread it? Also did you over tighten and maybe crack the lower intake?

You can't just screw the nut on there like you have it, there is a fitting that needs to go into the intake first and then the fitting you have screws into the fitting that goes into the intake. That traps the probe between the two.

    why is that???

i may be mis-reading this, but i've installed temp gauges in that location before and car ran fine. just pull out the factory temp sensor then put the gauge one in it's place.

the factory coolant temp sensor contributes to the ecu calculation of A/F
