    TR3650 nochy shifting??

Just curious what tranny fluid everyone runs and what can make the TR3650 a tad smoother. Mine isnt bad but i've heard stories of people switching to diffrent fluids which make it alittle smoother. Its mainly notchy beetween 1-2 but all of the other gears are smooth as butter. My car has 20k and still has the factory fluid in it(if fluid will even make a diffrence). I've gotten a million diffrent answers that go both ways as far as changing to synthetics etc. Or will these trannys always be notchy and dont worry about it,lol. Any input??

    Thanks

Amsoil makes a counterpart to the Synchromesh. I think its called MTF. Good stuff. I use it in my Tremec 3550.

I was just looking in Jegs and Royal purple has a "syncromax manual tranns fluid" I'm going to assume its of the same nature.

I use the Royal Purple. Course when mine starts acting up I know it's time to adjust the clutch cable.

Mine has a little problem between 1st and second when it's cold. But I bought my tr3650 used for 350, 4 years ago. I run Mobil 1 AFT, with a little over 1/2 quart less than it called for originally. When they do the fix on the tr3650 at ford the recommend to running a little less than ii originally called for. I think there was more of a problem with the 01-02.

    Exactly.
If you don't have a firewall adjuster, just pull up on the clutch pedal.
The 3650 is one of the smoothest RWD trannies I've ever shifted.
    They powershift SO easily.
