    window tint removal question

i am tinkering with a car i just got from florida.
it has had window tint for the past several years.
i want to rmove the stuff.
i have been peeling it off and using glass cleaner with ammonia.

even with the film off the window its as if there is a glueish coating on the window. i do not want to gouge the glass by using a razor blade scraping it..but that has been the only way so far if i squirt the winow with cleaner then run the blade over it

any tips/tricks to get this crap off my windows??
i was going to try laquer thinner but don't want to ruin the glass.

A razor wont gouge the glass The only thing it will do is remove the defroster, and if it is a Florida car, you dont have one. The razor will be a hell of a lot easier. Otherwise, you will go through a ton of rags wiping, flipping and wiping again.

ALways use laquer here. Glass is pretty resistant to chemicals. A good single edge razor blade works well too.

I agree, brake cleaner and gumout stink, you don't want your interior to smell like there is a carbeurator underneath the drivers seat
