WTB:87-88 turbocoupe T-5,5 speed trans

I'm doing a 5 speed swap on my '93 4 cyl coupe and I'm looking for an 87-88 turbocoupe T-5,5 speed transmission. Let me know what you have and a price. Thanks.

The regular 4 cylinder T5 is the same as the TC T5 so you could open your search a little. PM MAP351 on this site, he might be able to help with a trans and the bell.

Yes and No :D

The 4 cylinder input shaft is a smaller diameter, and slightly different in length. It can be made to work, but you either need to have the pilot shaft ground down in diameter, or run a "special" pilot BUSHING (no bearing).

V8 gear ratio's arent exactly freindly for 4 cylinders either, unless you are making some power ;)

Thanks for the info. I thought that the 87-88 turbocoupe T-5's were world class T-5's. That's why I was looking for one of those in particular. If they're all basically the same,I guess any 4 cyl T-5 wil do. I'm doing a 5 speed 2.3 turbo swap on my '93 notch,so I might have some more questions for you if you don't mind. I'll PM MAP351 to see if he has anything for me. Thanks.

world class started in 83 so any 2.3l t-5 from 83 up will work

Someday, we are going to get me, MAP, Frank, Shaun & his dad, Troy, maybe Don, Jan (not on here), and a few of the other 2.3 cars all at the track at the same time. We get 10 of them there at one time maybe we can have out own class ;)

I picked up an '86 TC T-5 trans,bellhousing,block plate,flywheel and driveshaft tonight. Thanks Don. It was good to meet you.

If thats a TC driveshaft, its going to be too long.

island spring and drive shaft made me one if irc for around $200 with new yokes but that was 2 years ago and i cant find that receipt

I'm pretty sure that he said the driveshaft was from a mustang. Thanks for the info though. I'll have to check the length to be sure.

No problem, the driveshaft came out of a v8 notch.
