i took my bottom end to the machine shop to get checked after i ruined my head. looks like my 3 and 7 piston looks like they got hit with a belt sander. so i am going bigger and better. do you guys think a 347 is too much volume for a s-trim, or should i stick with a 331?
also, and short blocks for trick flow heads for sale are considered. thanks

what block are u gonna use?
i was told my stock block still looks good with a little boring and a main support for extra help
this just my opionion i would go with the 331 cause of the added side wall load of a 347 on a stock block every little bit helps and with boost on top of that. as for the s trim pulley it up and it will do fine i went 10.6 at 132 with a s trim at beaver. at a better track i know it had 10.40 in if not faster. again just my .02
Drop Jay an email, but I can gaurentee that he will say 347, as will I. Dont believe the hype behine the "supposed" issues of the 347 as stated above.
The ONLY reason to build a 331 over a 347 is if your running in a cubic inch limited class for racing. Im in the process of building a Mexican block 347 as we speak.

This is where I am now. I would not waste time and money on a stroker unless you are going aftermarket with the block. Having a blower and a stroker, you WILL be cracking the block. It wont hold together. So, in my opinion Chad, save for a dart or a boss block.

I agree. Some people get more time than others, but with a t-trim and about 14 lbs. of boost with a gt40p mild h/c/i stock short block, mine lasted 10 laps on a road course. Stock block isn't very strong, no matter how many girdles you bolt to it.
until i can scrape up the cash for a new bottom end, i think im just going to pick up a few hundred dollar bottom end to hold me over.
I have a 306 sitting here.
