I'm in the final stages of building my Lightning. Unfortunatly a few weeks back i lost a fuel pump at WOT running with a friends built GTO. MY truck studdered for a split second, and i immediatly got out of the throttle. Unfortuanlty i was to late, and saw my fuel pressure gauge reading 20 some PSI as i was lifting. It shuddred again, and i knew she was done. I Pulled the motor the next day to find number 4 and 8 pistons pretty much toasted as well as one Walboro 255 pump no longer working. I would say me being bummed was an understatement. I took the block and crank to the machine shop, had the cylinders honed, crank polished, rod bushings honed, and block decked. I had to shell out $800 for a new set of Manley 11cc dish ceramic coated forged pistons and rings. I assembled the motor with new bearings, oil pump, and MLS head gaskets, hand filed rings, and so on. I'm also using ARP main, and head studs, Manley H-beam roads, Kenne Bell 2.6 blower, and a BUNCH of hand fabbbed parts. This truck will be for sale shortly if you are interested in a very much not stock Lightning with a fresh motor, and tons of aftermarket, and one off parts made by me.
Here is my new Aluminum rad mount i mad this afternoon. I will be adding a few more hand built parts before i'm done to really make this truck stand out in a crowd.
