    99-04 2v 4.6 Blocks

What kind of hp are these blocks capable of before you have to start getting worried of blowing it apart?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the 4.6 iron block in the 2v is the same as the 03-04 cobra's and you see what kind of numbers they are holding up to. The cast crank and internals are what let go on the 2v way before you would have to worry about the block.

NVH blocks are the best choice. I think they started in 03, but many guys put 1000hp no problem.

The 2V block has 2 bolt mains with side jacking bolts. The 03-04 Cobra's have 4 bolt mains with side jacking bolts. The blocks themself will have no problem handling the power the average person can put too it.

From what I have read 800-1000hp with a well built motor. Not bad for a sub $400 block new

Yep, people do it all the time. Most people use the 4V aluminum block on there 2V engine builds to save weight. It's one thing that nice about mod motors, most parts can interchange.

Is that aluminum block as strong as the iron? Cause i know the iron block was used in the 03/04 cobras and have seen big numbers with the block holding.

Just get a Teksid block from a Mark VIII. Only problem you'll have is being able to afford the rest of the parts to make enough power to worry about hurting it.

Certain ones yes. People seem to want more for them cause it's from a Cobra though. You can get one from a Mark VIII as a complete longblock from Seichrist for just a bit over $200.
