Does this actually make any difference at all ?

not sure...but thats how i do it all the time....i thought their directions said to pre-load it.....but i havent looked in a while

does anybody know a reputable "alignment" shop around Connellsville / Mt. Pleasant / Scottdale?

I don't want to take this thing to a dealer or retail shop.

    thanks !

best bet is go back to a site shop here...most other shops will charge you an additional 10-15 bux for having a modified suspension...plus most likely get better work/service (as long as its not too far from you. Tim isnt far is he?)

    just my $.02

btw - have you thought of adding shorter swaybar endlinks to help realign geometry of front end? (only cost $20)

do you mean "longer" ? It probably has negative camber now with the shorter springs. If you pull the A-arms up closer, wouldn't that make it worse? Longer end links would seem to push the arms out a little a correct the negative ??? I don't know. School me.

You're dropping the body relative to the lower control arms, thus you need shorter endlinks to keep the trailing arms on the sway bar parallel to the ground. They're cheap - energy suspension sells a nice set with urethane bushings for about $15.00.

im looking for the part number now....ive posted it before for the 94-04 stangs

edit -numbers are Energy Suspension 9.8125, if not available use 9.8117. very minor difference in length. i have used both on my 94-04. Autozone and pep boys carry them in stock for around 15-20 bux.

thanks Jared. No offense to you, but has anybody else done this or have an opinion on this?

Should I even get the damn thing lined up if it's not wearing the tires funny, tracking weird or doing any other weird stuff?

    Thanks !

My '94 Cobra with Steeda sport springs measured out at 26.5 inches in the front and 27 in rear - fender lip to floor. I am putting the ES poly isos and some metal ring spacers in since my Hooker long tubes scraped pretty bad last week. I hit a low spot in the road at 45mph and darn near ripped the collector off.

Yeah, I was reading your thread. Maybe the Hookers hang a little lower than the BBKs? Maybe the 4.6 block sits a little higher in the K-member? Mine is about 26.5-26.75 in front and 27.0-27.25 in the back right now. I was out last evening and I was thinking about your car. I went over few sets of RR tracks and hit quite a few dips at 50-60-70mph+ and I didn't have any problems. Hope you get it sorted out.

I think my headers hang lower than most others, but 26.5 is pretty low in the front. 1/2 inch means a lot. I'm taking my car up to Tim's next Saturday - I'm sure he will fix me up. I just hope it doesn't need raised too high to give it the 4x4 look. Getting some other suspension upgrades done at the same time.

If you hit dips at 70mph w/o scraping then chances are you will never scrape. On your tire wear question, once you see tire wear it is too late. If you take the car on a long road trip and the alignment is off, your tire will show itself real quick and may ruin your tires in 1 trip. If you just drive short distances and don't put many miles on, you may never see tire wear.

Thanks. I'm looking to get it aligned ASAP.
