If you guys go to Beaver Run, I'd like to tag along.
My DD is a Contour SVT and I live in Beaver so I've been wanting to give the track a try. Never been on a road course but it sounds like big fun.

PJ mentioned the SVTOA event at Summit Point. This is a perfect opportunity to see a wide range of "Blue Oval" cars on track and to try your own car at the same time. You never know what might show up from Detroit at this event......... Prior to release Ford drove one of the Ford GT prototypes to the event and flogged it both days on track while giving all an opportunity for the ride of a lifetime. I was fortunate enough to be the one giving the rides for about three hours on track. If you want more information about the Saleen Performance/SVTOA Mountaineer Madness, send an email to Gastrader1@aol.com.

This was definitely a great event last year. I was there as a spectator and it was still good fun. Brian was kind enough to take me and my little brother for a ride and it was a blast. Now I just need to round up the $350 so I can get out there and flog the cobra this year

Sure...come and join the fun. To bad we couldn't get more SCS members there. It is a blast. I've done 2 Flat out Fridays already but not in my Cobra.

Also...i've been driving the car the last few days....turn-in in unreal. Balance is awesome......and the torsen T2 keeps me out of trouble in the turns...(wish I could still use my right foot for quicker turning though )

I'm not sure what the current alignment specs are but it's pretty aggressive for a car that will see mostly street. I'm going to dial back the camber and get rid of a little toe in the front. I'm not sure about the back though.

Anyone have specs for a nice street setup for the rear?

I bet the front is over 2 deg neg camber right now with a healthy dose of toe. I'm thinking about going to 1.25-1.5 deg camber and 1/16" toe in the front. This will help with tire wear and fuel economy. Thoughts? (maybe this is more for Gastrader)

Thanks John. I think I'll just do Beaverun...$350 is a little steep for me now that the wife is unemployed.

I'd just be down for Beaver Run also. Summit Point sounds cool, but I've never been on a track, so I'll try the close one first.

Please include me on the PM's. I attended an event last year at Beaver run and it was the most fun I've ever had in car. I also won a gift certificate so I want to go back and use it.

    To Somethingclever,
In my 03 Cobra I ran 2.5 negative camber and 8 degrees of caster all the time. It had a Maximum Motorsport K-Member and there CC plates. The car was set-up for open track events but I did drive it to all events, 10+/year. ihad zero toe also. Tire wear was flat and fuel economy was 20+ on the highway with 500+RWHP. I sold this car late last summer and bought a purpose built track only car. I have been to Beaverun a few times since they have opened and one of my "many" complaints against the facility is there Flat Out Fridays, they do not offer enough on track instruction at these events for the inexperienced drivers. I have been hosting on track events for about 6 years now and I also instruct for SCCA, NASA, Mercedes Benz Club, SVTOA, and other track clubs throughout the country.
    Be careful.
