What is a reasonable amount of time to get a repair estimate from a body shop

The wifes Jeep has been there since last Friday and still no answers. I'm getting impatient as we need to get another vehicle. What's an average turn around?

well, import killer wrecked hid car in december, and i did get the check till the beginning of febuary, and i didnt get all the parts till the 22nd.. typically it goes a 1000$ per week, meaning that if there is 9k in damage, it will be 9 weeks to get done. thats kinda rule of thumb, and remember, insurance companys only want to pay for aftermarket parts, never factory parts..

Already started to have that arguement with them It's got 3000 miles on it and I'll be damned if there will aftermarket or used parts used. He's up to 14K with a walk around, but still haven't got it in the shop.

when my car got in the accident I got an estimate in less than 10 days.
edit - and my crash happened a week before Christmas

Now the time to actually repair it, that was another matter.

I shudder to think how long it will be in the shop if they don't total it. Maybe I'll have it by next winter

well the guy we took it too rarely does any bodywork anymore just runs a lil mecahnics garage so there was no wait to get it in or anything. By the way it was 5600 dollars of damage and it took about 5 weeks or so. So timmy has it about right with 1k per week
