gas prices

I think we need to have a day or 2 where everyone doesnt buy gas for the whole day, to try and send a little message to the companys that we can hurt them to, Exxon profited 11billion dollars in their last quarter, that is the most they ever made in 1 quarter of a year....... any thoughts..

TRUE, TRUE, but i can't keep sitting here in my chair thinking about it and do nothing, i think we should at least try something instead of just moaning about the price all the time...

Wish I could but the lose for me from staying home far out weighs the gains. I have a better suggestion but not going to talk about it on the internet.

If gas would go back down to a dollar a gallon, the economy would pick up. Win win for everyone!

What people can do is drive the most fuel effecient car that you can afford, and car pool to save gas overall. Not buying gas for a day will do nothing!
Lets say that Exxon make's $100 million profit a day, let's say a ton of people decide not to buy gas on tuesday, so on tuesday they only make $70 million profit, ok now come's wed. now there going to make $130+ million dollars the next day and not to mention the $500 trillion they got sitting in the bank. Your not going to hurt them in any way...

you see what i mean... talk talk talk, talking does nothing, if everyone you know started car pulling and riding the buses, we could go for weeks without buying gas, i had a honda that got 40mpg... I have been crunching numbers like a mad man to see if there would be an impact, and yes i do believe that somthing like this would send a message... It certrainly is better than doing nothing...

think about this 3 months = 11 billion dollars, roughly 90 days in 3 months, thats aprox 120million dollars a day!!! a day!!! and thats just profit.... imagine if they profit 1.00$ per gallon of gas, and gas is about 3$ per gallon, that is 360million of gross income a day!!!

Unless there is a car that runs on something other than diesel/gas you can't get around it. You HAVE to pay the price they want. With an economical car you'll cut some costs, but you're still buyin' it from them. Even if the would drop prices why should they? The monstroscity SUVs getting shit gas milage fly off the lots, so apparently a large part of the country doesn't care about the price. Take a look at some of the cars purchased on here lately.......

Well let me tell you this, i ran outta gas in the middle of Mon City tryin to make it to Sheetz, I was about a a mile away, i didnt have a can and wasnt going to call anybody, so i walked into Right Aid and bought two pints of rubbing alcohol for like .49cents a piece, dumped it in my mustang, it fired up, ran like shit but got me to sheetz! NOW, there was a little prob a week later when the pump shit it self in washington, i drifted into a parking lot and did a fuel pump in the parking lot! ALWAYS CARRY TOOLS!!! and i was lucky because auto zone was about a half mile down the street. Any way WE can produce a fuel? Like make something ourselves? There has to be something that someone can produce in a lab, and im not talkin E85, A synthetic fuel or something. Any thoughts on this?

If they cant tax it they will not let it fly... that why pot is illegal.. If the goc could find a way to tax it the ywould allow it...

People are driving me crazy with this "lets not buy gas for a day" bull$hit.....Get it through your head people, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER, unless you buy an ALL electric car......then people would bitch that the electricity prices are too high. The last time I filled my truck (Monday) it cost me $80.50.....Im not riding a bike to work or taking the bus so you know what, I dont bitch about it cause I know I need it and HAVE NO CHOICE.....Do i agree with $3.00+ per gal gas prices, HELL NO......On average most gas companies make 2-3 BILLION dollar PROFITS per quarter. I think gas per gallon, should be around $1-$1.50 per gallon.

The real problem now is the Wall Street Shitheads that think oil is the newest thing to have. They lost money on the housing and other goods markets,and now think they can make it on oil. Untill they lose on oil, the price will stay high. I remember putting 17 cent gas in my Camaro in 1971!

Drill for our own oil... (stick some dirty underwear in the mouths of the tree huggers) the price will come down. I would rather americans were making the profit than the the people that want to kill us in the middle east.
