    Spare Tire well Uses

I was in my truck listening to some music and I turned up the radio. The old speakers started cracking and I thought to myself, “When I finish the Mustang, I won’t have this problem”. I started to think about XM vs. Sirius radio. Then I thought it would be neat to put a woofer in the spare wheel well.

Well so far I have three uses for the spare wheel well. Keep in mind this is supposed to be a fun daily driver.

i'd say from those 3 choices,go with the fuel cell. since im not into subs,or the extra weight of a spare.

    The spare is aluminum...
I do like the sleeper fuel cell or methanol injection idea... So many choices.

plus it would get rid of the tank underneith, giving you clearance for hidden twin turbo's,lol

    NEXT TIME.
I hope to build a second car that appears to be the same on the outside. But under the covers it will be a much mode radical build. I am thinking about a super charged 408 for the next build. I already picked up the 351 to fox body exhaust and H-Pipe. Or I could sell the pipes and do the rear dual turbo setup. I just need to win the lottery.

Back a few years ago I would have said subwoofer but now that i"m old and wiser I say spare. Just for the fact you never know when you'll get a flat or a blow-out. You'd be at yourself for replacing/taking out the spare when you needed it.

Because of that, I agree with the spare. Nothing would suck more than getting that chance blowout and having to get towed or make phone calls because you have no spare.

I vote full-size spare. I had a full-size in my other car. I'm kind of looking for a used Bullitt wheel now. Even if you have to put the little donut on there, that just gets you home or to a tire repair shop. If you got a full size (even though you have a 50% chance of your tread being backwards) your ride and your whole day is not ruined. You could continue on your trip and worry about the flat the next day or whenever. Barring a second blowout or flat, I guess.

On a side note, when I was underage, I used to put ice and beer in the spare tire well of my Geo Metro. It was an awesome hiding place until my old man noticed a puddle of WATER under the back of my car one day and inquired as to what it was from.

Mazda made a subwoofer that fits in the rim and shares the space with the tire/wheel. It won't let you rattle the windows real bad but it is better then running around without a spare on Western PA roads with pot holes that are close to being sink holes lol,

I agree with this! What if you're out somewhere in the middle of the night or rush hour and get a flat? Good luck trying to get AAA...you'ud be in deep doo-doo!

removable fiberglass subwoofer enclosure which sets inside the spare, with low profile shallow mount 12" Rockford sub, built in amp mount, and quick dis connects for those days you'll be running at the track, seriously who cares about an extra 80lbs. on the road...
Honestly the majority of my customers are 16-25, the majority of my clients (3peat buyers) are 35 and up 1 thing in common is they both want subs, the difference is the younger guys want 15's the wiser ones want iPod and a 10, maybe a 12
