Window Tint

I'm trying to decide how dark to get my windows done and wanted to know if anyone has gotten any tickets from the local police. I live in Robinson but pass thru Carnegie, Bridgeville, Moon on a regular basis.

id say 20% and you'd be safe...but i wasnt happy with mine...they werent dark enough so i got my truck done to 5%(limo black)...

20% will be dark enough to be noticed but still be able to see through some. I personally like 15-20%. Depends on the area and the cop on how much they care. If the cop has nothing better to do, you'll probably get stopped. I had 35% on my mustang and got stopped and ticketed. I had 20% on my VW and got stopped and ticketed.

good luck. I would go with 35% if i was u and you might even get pulled for that. Mine are 20% and my last car was 5%. It looked good but was to much of a hassle with cops etc.

it's all about being in the wrong place at the wrong time with tint. i have always had tint on my vehicles and have been as dark as 20% on the front side windows...i have never been pulled for tint (knock on wood). with that said, i know numerous people who have got nailed...some even multiple times. im pulling mine off, illegal tint is every prick cops best friend since it gives them probable cause to stop you...then the fun starts.

I lived in the Robinson area for about 3 years and never got hassled for tint. The cops up there seem to be pretty reasonable.

i had tint on my old car before i totalled it, 35% on side windows, 5% on back side windows

never got hasseled in robinson

got hasseled in cranberry like 10 times, never got a ticket tho

got hasseled in beaver falls a couple times

(i might of also had a ricer exhaust on it, so that might of helped)

every car ive ever owned has had 5% all-way round even sunroofs and ive never gotten a word said to me. even when i got pulled over for speeding the cop didnt say a thing. if you draw att to yourself (ex:goofin off,speeding,loud music,spinning tires,racing etc....)
that will give them a reason to come after you. but like others have said it's all in the location/additude of the cop also

Both great advice.

If you do a lot of driving, its not worth the hassle IMO.

That's always the way I've had mine tinted. In fact, I'm getting the 06 done tomorrow morning.

20% all the way around on my daily driver. Nice shade, but is hard to see backing up in areas that arent well lit, like my driveway...lol...which normally would not be a problem but my driveway is narrow and steep as a half-pipe...ok not that bad but alot of people who cant drive I dont even invite them over because they freak out...

If I could do it over I would go with 35%...but the 20% is nice at night when your out and pull up to lights and have people who like to stare and they cant see you...

and also to add to that law any vehicle that is 04 and up if its not oem its illegal i got a ticket for having my old crown vic rear windows tinted. but they just wanted to give me a hard time so any other cars they wouldnt bother you most likely.
