As some have picked up on, I sold the TL1000R to one of Scott5's friends last week. Then also sold the LT1 Trans Am this past week...

I had been looking for almost a month for a R1 to trade off the TL-R for... And i found the deal i was looking for...

Just unloaded the bike off the truck! Thanks to Rob (wick) for letting me borrow his ramps...

thanks man! I really love the blue... i could have picked up one of the Raven edition ones (all black) for a few bucks cheaper, but i have always loved the blue, even tho 1/2 the Yamaha's you see are blue

nice... you won't miss the V-twin low-RPM grunt after you wring that thing past 10K a few times.

I remember drooling over the blue '98 R1 at the Cleveland Motorcycle Show in the winter of 97/98?. There was a crowd about 10 deep standing around it. I had to wait 10-15 minutes to sit on it.

That was pre-world wide web and I only saw a few tiny pics in magazines.

Far less weight, tons more power, better ergonomics, better weight bias. So many reasons why, thats just a few.

plus my other litre-bike was a 2000, this is a 2004... plus my other one had 43K miles on it... this one has 6.5K miles....

I absolutely loved my TL-R.... it had soo much character.... but, just like Troll, i fell IN LOVE with the R1's when they were first released.... i was in middle school at the time and through high school, my dream was to own a R1... i came across my TL-R and bought it after spending 2 years looking for a good deal on a R1... it was a good deal, and i loved the bike, so i bought it.... but i was able to unload the LT1 and the TL-R and get my dream bike.... R1's are what got me interested in the sportbike scene in the first place.. otherwise i'd have stayed strictly a dirtbike rider

I tried to buy a R1 in the spring of 99. Nobody had any within 100 miles of here. Bentley's in Canonsburg finally got one in and the guy on the phone told me $11,700 and I better hurry. MSRP was like $10,199 or something. I bought a CBR900 for $9,000. I still wish I would've held out a few more months and got a R1.
