that exhaust and tail-section is sweet looking.

I tried to buy a R1 in the spring of 99. Nobody had any within 100 miles of here. Bentley's in Canonsburg finally got one in and the guy on the phone told me $11,700 and I better hurry. MSRP was like $10,199 or something. I bought a CBR900 for $9,000. I still wish I would've held out a few more months and got a R1.

Don't forget how gay that intercooler looks. Maybe we should get Bish a front liscense plate or at least some black spray paint.

he does not have two bikes, only one now. And he only has the t/a and the truck. And i personally know how hard he works to get what he gets, he busts his a$$ everyday and his job like most people on here and studies for his job more than most people study for college..

took it for a 30mile ride today, and its blistering fast... can't wait to get a match between it and my car........

damn bike does 95mph in first, somewhere around 130 in second and 145-150 in third.... (tough to say, b/c at that speed i'd rather pay attention to the road as opposed to the speedo) ... it gets there rediculously quick too!

And is the rear turn signals integrated?
yea, the rear brake light and turn signals are integragted... i think i recall hearing its a shitload of LED's inside the rear talilight... when you put the turn signal on, half of the tail light flashes yellow.... Flush mounts for the front will be something that i eventually get, but not a high priority right now... i absolutely love the bike the way it is and probably wont do much to change it.... Frame sliders are a definite though.... i will hopefully pick up a set of those soon...

Yea... i intially was looking for a '02-'03 but decided that i really loved the looks etc of teh '04+ bikes... plus it doesnt hurt that the bike was completely remodeled for '04 .... the bike is just insane...

I am initially a little nervous to lean it hard into turns because the previous owner apparently wasnt aware that there was anything other than a straight stretch in this world... there are 2" chicken strips on both front and rear tires ... i'm thinkin that after so many heat cycles, and that part of the tire never being used, its probably like ice.... So, new tires that i can actually lean to the edges on are going to be the first thing i buy!

i just got into a career that not many can do... and if you are one of the few that can, its very rewarding... I was valedictorean of my high school, went to college on a full-ride and got a job that involves mathematical equations and methods that 99.99% of people would cringe at... LOL... just keep griding.. you got some pretty damn nice stuff yourself my man!

Thats awesome. When I had my 6R I wanted to intergrate my rear but never spent the money on it.

Love the bike though. I had a class last semester with a kid that got an awesome deal on an early 00-02 R1 and I had the pleasure of riding it one day after class. The power was unreal and that was with a 6-7 year old bike and they just get faster with every model change.

    Have fun with it!

Yea, the bike is blistering fast.... I'm dropping by the bike shop tonight to order some sticky tires for it (i'm gonna try these new 190/55 tires that have been the rave since they came out a year ago) and some frame sliders and some flush mounts for the front... then i honestly think i'll be done... can't ever imagine needing more power...

oh, and i was wrong above... i was shifting the bike at 95mph in first gear, right before redline... i believe it hits the rev limiter in 1st at 101mph (says a magazine article)... its sooooo unnecessary - yet sooo necessary at the same time... lol

Yes, newer liter bikes usually gets to around 100 in first. Like you said, absolutely unncecessary but when you twist your right hand, sooo necessary.

Oh and a side note: If you're looking for different tires some day, I loved my pilot powers when I ran them on my 6R.

i just ordered new tires tonight....

I had 3 different sets of pilot powers on my TL-R... they are sticky has hell, particuarly the new 2CT model (dual compound with very soft sides) but they dont have a lot of feedback.... they stick... stick... stick.... and then without warning, will slide a bit...

i ordered some of these Continental ContiSport Attack Hypersport tires.... they're supposed to be super sticky and i got a killer deal on them... it was b/w those and the Metzler M3, which gets huge raves... so we're gonna give these a shot!

Heard good things about the M3's. Haven't heard that much about the Continental's. You'll have to let me know what you think of them.
