    Fuel Leak Problem/Question

I am in the process of replacing my Holley fuel pressure regulator. It was brand new back in December, but it is leaking fuel out the bottom of the regulator and squirts from the top where the adjustor screw/vacuum line goes. Also changed out the injectors.

I got a replacement Holly fuel regulator and am ready to install it. While I have the intake off, I thought it might be a good idea to install a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail (in place of the Schrader valve I believe?).

Anyone have any recommendations on brands and how this is done? If anyone has a model number or any info on a good gauge, I would appreciate it.

No model numbers but you can check summit. I used '94 rails and now have 2 ports. I plumbed an autometer ultralite mechanical and mounted it in the cowl of the hood. NAPA has the fittings that you can piece everything together. It cost me less than $10.00 to plumb it.

Under the hood is a useless place to mount a fuel pressure gauge. Just mount one inside the car where it should be so you can keep an eye on it.

So if i need to make an adjustment I have to adjust the regulator, then get back in the car to read the guage? Your right, that makes SO much more sense.

No put it under the hood. Who needs to know what going on when you are driving the car. After all we know that pressure has to be right on the money under no load while at idle. Why the heck would I care if my car is running out of fule on the top end.

    Now that deserves the

Actually Rush, the Idle pressure is not all that important, the wide open throttle pressure is what you'll want to be more concerned with. If idle pressure needs to be adjusted, just use a hand held gauge and screw it into the schrader valve on the hard line that comes up from the frame rail.
