Cool Interior Upgrade Including new Seats

I just started this past week. I pulled both seats, and started on a new carpet for the rear. I needed to finish around the fuel cell and battery, but I wanted a one piece look on the carpet.....more on that later.

I had some splits in my driver seat. I had two quotes to get the seats reapolstered $575 and $600. And that was just for the two front seats ONLY!! FYI they do not make the material for a 93 GT seat anymore which means you have to used a "close" alternative. That being said if you "fix" the driver side, you must also redo the passengers side to match.....thus the prices above.

Well...being the cheap inovative bastard I am....I decided to take an alternate route. Buy used GT seats and paint them to match. I found a set on Craigslist for $70 and used two cans of Duplicolor Fabric and Vinyl paint to make them black. Thus for ~$80 total...i got new looking seats.
    Here's some pictures.

I'll post the pictures for the carpet redo later.
Oh yeah....thx to Don the guy who hooked me up with the seats and this site.

Cleaned them up with some "Tuff Stuff" 1st and let dry.
    Seats removed

    Old black seats

Close up of the splits on the drivers seat

    "new" gray seats

Hardware removed for painting and what I masked up....

    Products used

    One started, one to go....

    Finished, but still drying...

Let me know what you guys think..

Had no idea you could bring seats back like that, if that doesn't work out you could always get some seats off of summit for a good price.

I think for the price you can't beat em. They look pretty sweet too! :)
