In that thread, I was just pointing out the rules that need to be enforced. Nothing more, nothing less. Actually I was asked by another mod and the admin to take care of the problem child.

Lou, the site owner has removed his privileges for posting in the classified section and since he has since posted items for sale in the off topic section, Lou banned him for a week.

As for your thread everyone is entitled to their opinion and opinion is fact until challenged. If you refrain from posting negatively then there won't be any paranoia required on your behalf when posting here.

    Hi Billy,

Im not too sure what your refering to as far as (All these threads getting locked or deleted), I can't tell you the last time I locked anything prior to the purestock thread and im the only one here that can permanently delete a thread or post. I don't have a click preference, I really appreciate you and the rest of the people from your area who come on here and participate on a reqular basis. I locked Joe's thread because it was all but over besides the bickering. I think a get together at a central track would be cool, we could all hang out, fire up the grill, and do some racin.

I really see no reason for you or anyone else to feel like you would be banned for speaking your opinion, I can only think of a handfull of people who have been banned in the last 3-4 years this board has been up and running.

Import Killer was banned for 7 days this week for posting things for sale in the off topic area after he lost his classified privledges a month or so ago for bumping his for sale threads 4 - 5 times a day and then basically telling Mark to get boned for telling him he couldn't do it. Last week he posted his lap top for sale, I deleted it, 2 days later he posted more stuff for sale so he got the ban. I don't like doing it but it seems some people just don't care about the rules or take a hint, then the bitch when they get banned.

Just some old fashion car guy smack talk as far as i'm concerned and nothing to get bent out of shape about. I understand everyone has their clicks so obviously if us guys from huntingdon get on here talking smack, you guys from down there are going to fire back and that's cool. your friends are nut swingers, our friends are nut swingers... everyone loves to race, and obviously we are all competitors so why are all these threads getting locked. i'm tired of all the posts getting deleted, and threads being locked for no reason. If they are getting locked out because someone is complaining, then send those whiners into their own 13yr old and under forum where they can talk about pillows and flowers. Am I the only one who feels like posting in this place is like walking on thin ice... it's a wonder the entire forum gets filled with b/s threads about the last time someone went to the bathroom. I have no doubt that we all would get along in person.

my opinion - which doesn't really matter anyhow - i think the board is controlled pretty damn well.... I don't see any threads getting locked that probably shouldn't be locked... I think Lou and Mark do a damn good job!

My only regret is not getting a few comments into the aforementioned thread! LOL

I agree. a track rental possibly would be a great idea. theres enough really fast cars on here to make the day very tight racing... as for locking threads.. maybe it's just me, but i don't see the point unless someone in the thread is spewing some pretty vulgar or racist remarks.. I like to watch things pan out :)

It all depends if you like drama or not.

Personally I work with enough Drama Queens that I have ZERO tolerance for it at play time. lol

I agree with bish i think the site is managed in a great way, and i can see that threads are locked so that they dont get to that point where it is out of control....on the other hand, i can see where locking a thread might get some people pissed....i dunno, you cant make everyone happy....especially when its what, 1300 people?

As Mark said, there are enough places in each and everyone's lives to experience drama that it doesn't need to flow onto this site that is meant to be a place of enjoyment. Lou lets a lot more go on here than most sites do. I believe in closing threads when the thread has run its course and it starts being a bickering match between members. Nothing good comes of it, ever, so that is when the lock comes out. I happened to jump on the site during the day on Saturday via my phone as I needed a phone number from my PM box, had I been able to lock the thread from my phone I would have as it had turned into a useless thread by that point and more of a "I'm better than you" type of thread.

If everyone acts civil, then there are no problems. When members antagonize, threaten, or are just downright rude to one another is when the lock and bans come out. No one should worry about being banned unless they are disrespectful to their fellow members or blatantly disregard the rules as set forth by the site. I can assure you the rules are not here to make the site miserable and oppressive. Everyone can express their opinions in a civil and tactful way, some just hit the submit button before thinking about how their post may be taken or the effect it will have on others.

BTW- I love the idea of a track rental too, but in the past PRP has been less than easy to deal with in setting one up. I tried three times to set one up and I never got a response back from the owners.
