    opinions on car

I am looking to buy anouther stang, but not sure if I want a 93 cobra or an 96 mystic cobra. I want to mod the car but put no more than 2grand into which ever one I get. What car is will give me more power for the money I have to put into it? I only use the car for street no strip.

93 Cobra for sure. The only better bang for the buck over a Fox Body is a 03/04 Cobra.

26k for an 03-04 cobra right now. 5-6k for a fox body. Put 20k in a fox body and it will, and may I add without a doubt be in the 8's. That is more bang for the buck Edwin.

The 96 cobra was rated @ 305 h.p. Rar wheel h.p. usually checks in @ 255-260 range BONE stock. The 93 Cobra was under-rated@ 235 h.p. Rear wheel h.p. figures in OEM form are in the 230's range. The 93 Cobra will outrun the 96 Cobra imho in stock trim because of the power to weight ratio.

HOWEVER, depending on what route you take with the 2,000 dollars worth of mods will dictate the eventual winner in terms of power production. Adding some type of artificial aspiration to the 4V engine will generate some impressive numbers doing the same to the pushrod 302 will show a sizeable increase as well. BUT, I believe that the 4.6L would be the winner in the H.P. department.

Power to weight ratio becomes another concern too. The 96's come in at roughly 3,350-3,400 where as the 93's are in the 3200-3250 range.

If one was to stick with the N/A route and use the 2,000 dollars for port work on the factory parts and cam(s) swaps the 4.6 would once again prevail. Just take a look at what Jim'sSVT did with a stock shortblock, ported stock cylinder heads, cams swap, and a modified intake. Try to accomplish that in a stock bottom end 302 with GT-40 cast iron cylinder heads.

Here is the link to this 98 stock short block, stock ported head monster that goes 10.7's n/a http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=771435

For clarification purposes the 96 mimicks the 98 almost entirely mechanically except for the material that the IMRC butterflies and constructed from and the computer has a more aggressive tune. The Pre-98's can be brought up to 98 specs quite easily though.

Just a bunch of bullshit, what the hell do I know about stock stuff anyway

He is debating between a 96 and a 93 you moron. What the hell does a 03-04 have to do with the original question by the poster of this thread anyway. WAY off topic

Well even Mater understood it so it must be your strong Monessen communication skills at work. And yes, my hot-tub gives you a bang for the buck, but hardly the BEST!

Best bang for the buck is TOTAL EXPENDITURE. What the hell don't you understand about that B.V. boy. Your barge does not yield bang for the buck. It yields an immense amount of TOTAL cash. Get it. If you don't, stop throwing your meds away.

    I don't know about flop...my 96 ran a 13.2 with 4.10's and an x-pipe. 94-95's were disappointing, but 96-98's were great.
