    New Toy

I've been wanting a bike for a good 5 or 6 years now, so I finally sacked up and bought one. I've never ridden any type of motorcycle before so this should be an interesting experience to say the least I wasn't looking for anything in particular, just a good sporty motorcycle at a reasonable price. I must have looked at over a thousand motorcycles in the last month or so. Happened to come across this one at a good deal so I jumped on it. It had a light drop on the right side, but it doesn't look too bad and is still in perfect mechanical shape. Big thanks to Bish for helping me check it out and haul it back to the house Wish me luck at not killing myself or the bike

I plan on it once I figure out how to ride the damn thing, haha. The rear tire probably needs replaced before I can get it inspected anyways so no sense in leaving good rubber on a tire that's gonna get thrown away

Does sound good for sure. I may actually put the stockers back on for a while just so people don't notice me making an ass out of myself as much though, haha.

Yeah, I need that as well. I'm taking my permit test on Thursday and hopefully taking the class at CCAC soon.

    Ray,
I dont think you need to take your permit test to do the class at CCAC ....

btw, I fully support ray's decision to start on a 1000... I don't think its too much, its all in being responsible with your right wrist.... I test rode the bike, and its obviously got plenty of snaught, but its not really going to pull the front end up on accident - quite frankly, i think its a great bike to start on - not too wild, but not so tame that he'll be sick of it in less than a year.... you could easily never grow outta this...

nice bike, definitely loud... congrats man!

If you're talking about the MSF test at the CCAC campus, then yes you do need a permit to take that course. If you pass that course you automatically receive your license and they stamp your permit.

Thats how it was when I took that course back in 2003.

    Congrats on the bike!

Congrats dude sick bike! Definitely take the MSF course and Stieny is correct you just need your permit and a helmet they give you a bike and all materials. Sign up quick though they fill up fast.

Take your time though dude, long as you stay within your limits you'll be ripping on it in no time. We gotta get a SCS ride together this summer. Especially since I am stangless for the time being lol.

Thanks for the compliments everyone I had no intentions on starting out on a liter bike, but I found this one on craigslist for $3k so I figured what the hell. I played around with it a little bit today and it's just gonna take a while to get used to the controls I think. I'm hoping to get into one of the CCAC classes soon, but you do indeed need your permit to even try to register so I don't know how long the waiting list is at this point. I'm hoping to be riding regularly within a month or so
