Center Cap Opinions.

I bought some '95 Cobra R wheels for the '01. As some of you might know, that wheel has a 2.25" hole for the center cap. All other Ford wheels from 94-04 have a 2.50" center cap. I'm supposed to be getting the original Cobra R caps (thanks again Wick) with the big red R and snake. The only other caps I can find in 2.25" are ones with just a snake and some from American Muscle with a funny looking flaming "M". I really don't want to be a poser and use the Cobra R center caps. I'm leaning towards either painting them gloss black. I really like the plain look. Or, should I use a vinyl black sticker with a clear vinyl over it. Or, should I buy those raised Pony vinyl stickers from Ebay for like $40.

I'll post pics of the wheels when I get them mounted on the car.

how would you be a poser using cobra R center caps? they're cobra R wheels aren't they? so why not use the center caps meant for the wheels?

as long as you don't go around saying you have a 95 cobra R to everyone i don't think you're being a poser

Can somebody with a S197 do me a favor? On all the 94-04 wheels, the cap is sunk into the wheel and flush. I noticed on the new cars, the cap actually has a lip on it that comes out of the hole and rests on the wheel. If somebody happens to have their wheels off for any reason could you measure the actual opening in the wheel. If, by some stroke of luck, that hole is 2.25" I would have a whole new assortment of caps to think about.

You should put W centercaps on instead of the M ones. That would be WAY cooler!

try newer ranger 5 spoke wheels (02-03 ish?) grey centr cap very close to right size (even has ford emblem) cleaned up edge with dremel & took spring off clips on back. looked very good on the cobra wheels I had on my car last year IMO.
