Does anyone have a Helicoil Kit/Tool for Cobra?

Has anyone done a helicoil for a stripped head on an 03-04 Cobra? I have been told that the kit (not just the insert) is different for the 4v vs the 2v. If anyone has a 4v kit I would be willing to pay you to let me borrow it so that I can get my car back on the road again. I work on the North Shore so picking it up would not be a problem.

Blow a plug out of the head?

You can get a helicoil kit at your local autoparts store.

What special tools if any will I need? Yeah I blew a plug out of the head, should've mentioned that in the first place (edited). I was informed today that it will pretty much be impossible to get this done under extended warranty w/o putting the car back to stock and 1. I dont have the parts 2. I'm not taking the headers off.

Yep...and Fastenal if you have one locally.

I can't remember if the drill bit comes with the kit or not...when I did one on a buddy's car it worked out that all the alum came out with the plug so it didn't even need drilled...LOL

I personally like to put some JB weld on the OUTSIDE of the helicoil and let it adhere before installing the plug and running. YOu also have to make sure you get the correct helicoil depth (into the head) with the kit I was using. I believe ones made specifically for spark plugs are more idiot proof on the depth.

Go to a NAPA and tell them what's up...they'll get you what you need.
