Torque Box reinforcement for foxes

At what point would it be necessary to do this mod? Is it mainly used in drag use, with hard launching? I am in the process of replacing my street suspension. Upper/lower ca's, springs etc... Now would be the time to put the torque box reinforcements on, but I wasnt sure if its necessary to do on a street car. They seem relatively inexpensive. I am leaning on doing it for cheap insurance, but was wondering what you thought.

Without a doubt, put them in Joe. Fox Mustangs are notorious for spliting torque boxes. Give me a call at the shop, we have a killer deal on them.

Yea id say they are a must on any fox vehicle. A friend of mine tore his out with street driving on steet tires with his 88 near stock auto

your already over the power levels for those things. The lower support plates that came with the sub frames will help, but the uppers should definately get full seam welded.

the lower torque boxes are made of 3 seperate peices of metal and not only rip apart but spread apart, disfigure, an i have even seen the bolt holes elongate, i have seen em pretty ripped up, and if they are to far gone you will never get the car to hook again without replacing them!!!, don't forget the upper boxes either they tend to pull away from the body after a while or without proper rienforcement... I do all of that kinda work at my shop...
