    E85 dyno

My brother re-dyno'd his ride to take advantage of E85.
Has anyone else here done this?
Hopefully you can see the graph, but he picked up 30rwhp and 27rwtq by switching to E85 and adding 4 degrees timing----now making 466rwhp and 620rwtq. That up 56/45 from last year and might help him pull better than a 10.77 :)
He also tightened the converter and added tailpipes, which is the middle curve from a baseline of last years pull.
The tuner has only done his personal cars and this one but the results give E85 my vote.

BTW its an '03 Cobra motor through a C4.

I have an appointment for my car 5/29, wish me luck.

    Thanks Ron, we try :)
I'm telling you, this long project is getting close and I can't wait.
Cross your fingers for me that the parts come in this week as scheduled.
We both plan on racing at NMRA Milan and its a great event if anybody is up for a road trip.

E85 definitely has some huge advatages.... I was going to build my fuel system to flow enough E85, but chose not to because of the limited fueling stations in the Pittsburgh area.... if they ever become more plentiful, and i still have my car, we'll be upping the injector size to take advantage of the extra octane...

Thanks for the info J! I'm at the point now where I'm starting to look into fuel systems so that I can put my T76 on soon and in the back on my mind I want to build it with enough extra flow that I could potentially run E85 even though there are no stations around here with it. Does anyone make a full kit yet that is E85 capable?

Edit: Why is the TQ number so high, is it due to the converter?

That car, and especially the engine bay, is FREAKIN BEAUTIFUL!

Did he change anything in his fuel system for the E85? I've heard that you need a different injector (maybe bigger?) and some other things

    Thanks guys.
There is an E85 site (sorry, forgot name) that tells you where the closest E85 station is to your zip. There are a few around this area, I believe the closest to me was about 15 mi.
    Paul:
TQ is high do to the non-lockup converter.
As far as the fuel system goes, the research we did says your system should ideally be able to supply 50% extra fuel if needed for E85 compared to pump. In the real-world I don't know how accurate that is but he made no changes.
He runs 65# inj., -8/-6 and an A1000 pump and had no problems. Not sure on inj. cycle duty, forgot to ask.
Dan: You don't need new injectors if your current ones can handle the extra load.

Could you get a better picture of his valve covers? I am trying to find a set to match the texture of my whipple.
