Anyone from here going to the Jalopy Showdown (May 17/18) next weekend at Latimore Valley Speedway? For those of you who doesn't know what it is... the show/weekend is probably the best traditional style hot/rat rod show in PA and definitely one of the best on the East Coast. I know the last few years they have had around 200-400 cars and are expecting this year to be the biggest yet. Latimore isn't too far from Harrisburg. It is an old dirt track now converted into a park with a automotive racing museum. They now let the old cars get on the track one at a time and raise hell and throw some mud! There are all kinds of rockabilly/rock-n-roll bands that will be playing throughout the weekend. I'm cruisin' down in a buddy's 49 Ford Woody with a 289, I can't wait!

Here are some pics from the Jalopy Showdown. It is not your traditional show/cruise, but IMO-this is what hot rodding is all about. Don't get me wrong, I love my modern muscle, but this takes the cake!
