Military adds armor to Iraq vehicles as roadside bombs surge


we at (B.A.E. SYSTEMS,FORMERLY UNITED DEFENSE) just did a contract for the military for these vechicles and new armor. these trucks are really big. when i stand by the doors my head came level with the bottom of the door (i'm 6'7").... im glad to be apart of the new invention to saving our troops, and the old ways we still do things to save there lives.

Couple companies make them now. International and I think the other is frieghtliner or AM General can't remember. My friend drives truck and hauled one not long ago. Only one lol heavy S.O.B.

I almost got ran over by one of those trucks a month back because I was looking at it while going down the road. It made my f150 feel like a little toy because the thing sat so high!

Ya, I work at BAE Systems in York, PA. We used to build the MRAP's at the York plant. I used to drive them everyday all over the plant. We just moved the MRAP's to another plant in PA, to be built (we still build the MRAP hulls). Now I'm back to driving different kinds of tanks :)

ah, thats cool another bae member on here. we made a trip out to the york plant a few months ago to see how that plant operates.

in all honesty yes i would also like the troops to come home too, but the way its going we will never be able to 100% pull out of there. it would just go back to the way it was just without the bigger leaders that used to be there.
