I am sure this has been preached many times. I for one always wear my saftey gear. While porting some heads for my 'stang, I managed to get a metal fragment in my right eye. I was wearing glasses. It has become known that glasses are just not enough protection. I just spent 45 minutes in the ER getting it removed. The doctor tried to use a q-tip but that was not working. He then said "This might wierd you out a bit". He comes at me with a needle!!! I am petrified of needles. Under the scope, he digs at my eye trying to loosen the metal object. With sucess he gets it out. Now with the orange dye all over my face and a red eye, I am at home, but not before going to Home Depot and getting a full face shield. As per wifes order. The moral is, wear proper safety gear. No matter what you are doing. Over kill is fine. You only get 1 set of eyes. Oh, and my eye is all scratched up. He says this should go away in a few days.
