    Lightning vs. a certain S3 SRT-4

Since philly and I have been racing each other since I've had the Mach 1 , it's a good barometer to see how a vehicle runs to line up against his skittle. So from a 40ish roll to 100-105ish ( don't actually know where we left off) the srt pulls about a car or so. I felt I was going to get pulled more so I was happy. Next a pair of dig races. Now nobody raves about the launching ability of FWD cars on street tires, however a torque happy pickup truck on stock Goodyears is no pic-nic either so I figured we were fairly even on these races. Race one. I launch decent as does philly. He gets the holeshot, but the L puts a little distance on him. We left off around 100 and I was ahead, but the SRT was reeling me in, so in a full quarter mile I imagine I would have ended up about 3/4 of a car behind. Second race I launch decent again, the skittle has a bit more wheelspin this time, so The Lightning took the win to 100 ( and would have been ahead in a 1/4 mile on that one). All in all I was very happy with the results. I am eager to hit the track with this hulk and see what it runs...but I NEED stickier tires!

at least i handed it one L as those of us predicted.

I told you from the minute I was in the thing and you hammered it that it was faster than a 105 trap. If I had to guess I would say that thing is trapping 110-112.

Now I wish I had gotten 100 octane fuel on my way to pitt. theres a place on the way to you that is still "only" $6.36 a gallon LOL

    i know, right?

that place local to me is over $9.00 a gallon for it out of the pump LOL.

I dont think I can go back there because one day I called up and asked how much it was and at that time it was $8.16. So i laughed really hard and said "no really how much is it?" and they didnt seem too happy with that.

oh well screw them there is a local speed shop that has VP109 that I can cut 1:1 with pump and still hold HOM (but if i use it straight up I can tell the difference in the way the engine runs).

lol yah it does have plenty of life left but with the project car coming why push it. Its been a fun and (relatively) dependable car (given how much the torque and power output is over stock) and id hate for it to break in such a way that it does down hard and for a long time.

thats what the mustang is for. its easy to build and cheap to repair so I can beat the snot out of it and if it breaks just fix it cheaply (e.g. clutch and throw on the SRT4 is about $550.00 for anything that will hold above stock power levels. You can spend half that for a mustang and get an acceptable clutch)
