I heard reports that Mario has been heard saying he has instructed the team to loose on purpose so that he can reep the benefits of the extra revenue from having another playoff game in Pittsburgh. ;) (No body get bent out of shape its a joke!)

I'll be happy to be done with some of the worst fans in sports in Philly. They cry and cry and cry about the offcials, and cry and cry and cry our two best defensmen are hurt, and whaaa whaaa whaaa. Nothing like having a full proof excuse for when you get your ass handed to you? If you want to act like a hard ass team and a team with "history and tradition" try loosing with some too...

It wouldnt matter if Philly was the 1st seed in the playoffs, or the 8th seed. The Philly "faithfull" always think they have the "biggest and baddest" team in the NHL.

Although those really sharp orange "Vengence Now" shirts can still be of good use to the Philly fans, when they are picking up trash along I-95 this summer!

    Lets Go Pens!

Don't want to see them lose a game, just to come back home. Got to get it done tonight!! How great would it be to shake hands and be awarded the Prince of Wales Trophy on Philadelphia's ice?? That would be the ultimate:flipoff:to the Flyer fans.

Yes, some flyers fans are d1cks in Philly, but other teams are far from innocent of having the attitude you describe. For example, I had beer thrown at me just for having flyers gear at a Rangers game. I've also seen Pittsburgh fans act in the way you describe.

Its a shame too because people go from having pride in their city's team and crossing the line into thinking they are "t3h b3$73$7 3vAr aNd c4n n3\/A4 l03s!1!one!1!1" The flyers do have a history and tradition of being a solid team year after year with a high consistency of making it into the playoffs. That doesn't mean they are going to win it all. Flyers fans often hope for unrealistic goals based on how the team played in the season.

They pretty much limped into the playoff picture this year as a 6th seed with 95 points, and getting into the playoffs wasn't a certainty until pretty much the end of the season. Only 3 teams were assured of making it in with any certainty and Philadelphia wasn't one of them. The fact that they won their playoff round with washington (always a tough series) and dispatched of montreal meant they more than lived up to their seed. For me, that made my season. They proved they belonged in the playoffs this year and shut up a lot of the nay-sayers. So what if people got hurt? thats the nature of the game. the fact that they adjusted as best as they could and didn't just roll over and die is what makes me a fan of the flyers. So what if pitt sweeps us? News flash to the blind flyers fan: pittsburgh is playing GREAT HOCKEY. Sometimes in a matchup, one team is just plain better. Philly could have been 100% healthy and it wouldnt matter. I had them winning 2 games at best. Sometimes a team is better, period, and excuses for why your team didnt beat a superior team just make you look stupid.

Any sh1t talking I have done here has soley been in the spirit of fun and friendly ribbing, and I hope that people didn't take me too seriously as I think we all had a little fun. It would be nice to get one game off of Pittsburgh, but im realistic and I know the season is over.

So good luck to the Penguins and hopefully the stanley cup round will be some exciting hockey.

I agree with everything you said here. Certainly not every single Flyers fan is a dick, which you certainly aren't! But even you admit to how unrealistic the Flyers fans are, and always have been.

I certainly didn't use any trash talk you were giving out as motivation for this post, so if you felt I was calling you out in any way I appologize cause it wasn't meant that way.

Philly fans...try Cleveland fans. Went to the first Steelers game of the year at Cleveland last year- sat right in the middle of the Dog Pound. Was hilarious as we left the hallway and started up the steps...as the first few of us turned the corner, we were met with a barrage of cussing and insults...as we kept coming, the volume level kept dropping. Once ~12 of us had turned the corner all the Cleveland fans had STFU.

No worries man. its all good.

One of the things that made me a fan of the flyers in the 80's is the way they respond to being the "underdog" and how they overcome adversity. They don't let a newpaper or some outside source tell them what their limits are. They just go out and play the best hockey they can with what they have come playoff time.

Its always easy to be a fan of a team when they win their division or playing well, and its amazing how many more fans suddenly appear when the team is winning as im sure pittsburgh is getting a taste of this year.

But in the end, im more than a fan of the Flyers, Im a fan of hockey. Its one of my favorite sports. The lockout BS a few years ago really left a mark on me to the point where I almost gave up on the NHL. This is the first year since the lockout that I've really noticed whats going on. And because of the way the flyers have clawed their way into the playoffs and didn't let their seed or injuries get in the way of trying to play hockey, I'll be following them again next year instead of just keeping track of college and minor league play.

    Thats what hockey is aboot.

GEEEEEEEEEZ.... why don't we let them have the entire first period on the powerplay!!!!!

I don't even think the Pens look THAT slow or anything... they've had a few chances, and been stopped, but the penalties are rediculous!!!

seems funny that this is the second time theyve lost after owning a team the entire series...did you know that well over a million dollars is made for pittsburgh everytime the pens play there? Due to hotel rooms, tickets, restaurants/food....just seems fishy to me.

Oh and if anyone wants to go to the burgh to watch game 5 on the big screen and harass philly fans let me know.
