well i have been kicking around the idea of either getting a vortech super charger or a pro charger. i was wondering what everyone likes the best out of any super chargers.

    Kenne Bell!!
I never heard anything really bad about Vortech's. Prochargers I have heard some bad thing's about. Namely customer service I think was bad and only person near by that works with them was I think(could be very wrong) Larocca's. I did see they seem to make alot of power though. Think I also heard they tend to leak oil or something. That problem may have been resolved by now not sure.

you better not run more than 9-10psi if you're keeping the stock bottom end.

kb does have instant throttle response and power, but it's a little harder on your con rods than a centrifugal charger that builds power with the revs. None of them are any good with a bad tune, though.

As Mike at Wolfpack so elegantly (and brutally honestly) told me on here before, you really have no business running a power adder on a stock 4.6 unless you're willing to ultimately pay the price and build/fix that bottom end. It's usually not IF... it's WHEN.

I'm still kicking this around for my '01, too.

These people have a great kit and great customer service from what I hear. Too bad they're in Georgia, but I hear nothing but good things about the "Mongoose" kit. Has everything you need AND I'M SURE JIVEPEPPER IS GOING TO CHIME IN AND TELL YOU HOW TO PUT YOUR OWN KIT TOGETHER.

supposedly, a Mongoose can kill a Cobra.

go with a vortech!! the Kenne Bell does not work as well on the 2vs as much as they do with the 4vs. Vortech is probably the best bang for your buck, the pro-charger IMO is the best s/c on the market but always has a high price. The KB is an awesome street s/c cause the power is there as soon as you hit the gas, but the vortech is probably the best all around s/c for the street or track..

So do you want one for the fun on the street factor or for the track or for both?

KB = fun factor on street
Pro charger = fast times at track
Vortech = fun on street and track

i would not get a procharger if i were you. i have no experience with them but i have heard they have a lot of problems with seals.

if you want a centri blower i would go novi-2000 or a vortech

i have a kenne bell and i LOVE it. you people can have your centri blowers because mine is more fun :-D. my only problem with my KB is the $$$

    i make 350 ft*lbs of torque at 2500rpm.

centri blowers are better at the track but thats only because there easier to launch.

I would only go procharger if you can run a head unit that taps into oil pan for oil return, don't go self contained. Vortech is a proven blower, I have one and the install was a breeze and cos. service seemed to be ok. I would not go roots or twin screw for a two valve only cause the torque is already there. If you do want gobs of torque go with a hellion or hp turbo kit. If your worried about engine probs, whats the difference? you can put the kit on now and have some fun till it breaks, or bulletproof the motor now. Either way it will be changed in the end.:)

I noticed alot of people that have never had a turbo car assume they have more up keep but I have not had any problems with my past turbo cars. (93 Stealth TT, 05 Impreza STI, 95 Talon TSI AWD) The Stealth was at about 450hp and DD with 120k on it when I sold it. (I ran that thing every day too. lol)

I would say to take a look at some of the videos online and talk to a few shops to see what suites your needs. I am looking at the turbo kits for the Cobra but they cost a bit more than going twin screw. Your kit on the other hand might be about the same or a little less.

they are almost the same price plus when im just driving low rpm not building any boost is should basically run as it were stock still and get decent mileage for that 4 dollar a gallon gas

i have personally heard some bad things about prochargers, i was gonna go with the vortech before i decided to go turbo, it would be pretty much the same price i would think especially if i had only gone with one turbo..haha, but everything turned out good with and i am very well satisfied, o and for the gas mileage i only checked it once and i was getting 19.5 mpg and thats with getting on it a few times too so i dont think it was to bad, if u have any questions feel free to pm me
