Bleeding the Brakes..

Hi,

I have an 03 GT that i just swapped the bullitt calipers, brakes and ABS pump onto and I'm running into trouble bleeding the brakes. I'm assuming it's because of the whole ABS system. If anyone has any info it'd be much appreciated!

dont have the answer as to why but on a new edge car you must start at the master cyl. people told me that when I put on my line lock & I didnt listen & after about 6 hrs of messing with it I finaly bled the master cyl & no more problems.

Thanks for the info but i started at the master cylinder then i got the front brakes to bleed but the backs refuse to. It's almost like the valves are closed or something.

try it with car running & go from master cyl to rear to front thats what ended up working for me (could also ditch abs/trac control will be doing mine shortly,I'll let you know how it turns out)

If you get air in the hydraulic valve unit (i forget the name) for the ABS, you have to take it to a Ford garage and they will have to actuate the valves and bleed the brakes to remove all the air.

I used a Mighty Vac pump to get the fluid to the rears on mine. They wouldn't bleed by gravity or pumping.
