    Digital Camcorders

Anyone have any experience with inexpensive digital camcorders? I'm looking for something simple to use, not to expensive, and that takes video in a simple format for posting on the web (.AVI ??). I use my digital camera now and its okay, but not ideal. Looking for something a little better.

I was looking at one called Flip, has a built in USB, holds an hour of video, looks pretty simple to use, but maybe only 2.0 mp. Don't know how that rates for video.

Thoughts, models, links, etc are appreciated.

MiniDV cams are pretty cheap now since DVD/HDD and HD cameras are popular.

I have a Samsung MiniDV that was expensive when I got it (600) but that was about 5 years ago. It's barely been used.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

I just bought a cannon from Sears about a month ago on clearance. It uses a MiniDV format and I couldn't be happier with it. Gives me excellent video quality on my 32" TV.

If you really want to post vids on the web, look for a camera that uses a firewire port, and install a firewire card in you computer. USB isn't really fast enough for good video transfer.
