    Fox Lake stage 1 ported Track Heat EFI intake

    Track Heat EFI, Aluminum, Silver Powdercoated, Multi-Port, Ford, Mustang with Fox Lake Stage 1 port. 20 cfm gain over out of the box.

    511.95 per summit racing for EFI intake&plenum
    150.00 Fox Lake porting
    661.95 Total

    $450.00 for an intake that generated 11.3's@over 118 mph in a 3100lbs. Fox body 302 Naturally Aspirated streetable combo! Like new condition

    Bring him down on Parente for Drag Racing 101. Classes start in April. Instructor is not responsible for sheared gears, worn blocking rings, trashed input shafts, or cracked cases.

    Exploded traction-loks, burnt clutches, and worn tires are also items instructor is not liable for.

    GT 40 intakes are go to about 350 HP. How far can I take this intake setup?

    Still looking for a home for that intake? I am currently looking a used Edelbrock Preformer upper and lower for under 200.00, but it look like this setup would give me more power at higher RPM.

    I was shifting the 302 @ 6,400 and going through the lights @ 6,600 with it. As far as power limitation with it, i've seen it in action on a 347 that was putting 380ish @the rear wheels.

    I am getting ahead of myself here but,..
    I just finished a 302 refresh to replace my tapping 302. When I pull the current engine, I am going to have a local shop weld the cracked fender wells in front of the shock towers and install channeled sub frame connectors.
    While I’m at it… maybe weld the upper and lower torque boxes?
    While I’m at it… Maybe weld the axle tube to the Diff.
    While the seats are out for the sub frame connector, replace with good seats.
    While the seats are out, hang the clutch pedals for a future AOD to T5 conversion.

    New hatch and Driver side door to replace rusted pieces. Then to the body shop to paint the Frankenstein body panels.

    That brings me to your intake. Once the car is stable again, I am going to build a fun daily driver car. I don’t intend to take it to the drag strip, but maybe Summit Point for a road race or two.
    I will need to lose the four link rear. I am thinking about using a torque arm (needed) and panard rod. (Needed)
    Reinforced Diff cover (Needed)
    Four wheel disc conversion. I can do this easily enough with Turbo Coupe rear calipers and 73 mm front calipers, but I think I might go with a twin piston caliper setup, like a Cobra setup. Both the diff cover and rear calipers brackets cause clearance issue for the panard bar.

    Once the chassis is strengthened and the brakes are good, I will do something with the front… No idea what yet. Strut tower brace, camber plates, New cross member (?) and relocated A arms? Coil overs? All undecided.

    Then the fun stuff. Once the foundation is solid I am going to take the motor I am currently pulling and build a 347 stroker. I hope to get 350- 450 RWHP with EFI. My friends are trying to convince to go with a carb. I see a lot of big HP engines with carbs, but carbs and transmissions have to many magically parts to adjust, and it is way to much like black magic to me. FI I can understand. Again, being a road car and not a drag car, I don’t think I will see RPMs over 5500 very much, so I need to keep the power band lower then most builds. Since the current car is AOD with 2.73 gears, I almost never see more then 2000 RPM, so I have no concept how many RPMs I’m going to pull during every day driving. Good reason to install the T5 before I build the 347.

    Speed density need to be swapped to mass air. I hear there are cams that work well with SD but they don’t seem strong enough for 400 HP.
    77 MM TB?
    AFR 185 heads?
    24lb or 36lb injectors
    Additional cooling.

    I am not looking for a Turbo or Supercharger Setup.

    What am I missing...

    I have some data from when I chassis dynoed a stock shortblock with some TFS Twisted Wedges, off-the-shelf hydraulic roller, and the TFS Track Heat intake. With peak RWHP checking in @ 5,850rpm the 302 generated 346 @ the tires. Excellent power was produced under the curve. Torque production was very broad and contributed to good driveability. This was in combination with a 5-speed O.D. trans.

    With a 347's mechanical advantage(3.4" stroke vs. 3.0" 302c.i.d. stroke) and the AFR 185's you mentioned, the engine would have a broad rpm range, assuming the cam is matched to the combo.

    There is always the AFR 205's that can also be a viable option. However, with an rpm ceiling set around 5,500 rpm, there would be a fair amount of power left on the table.

    The 75mm T.B. will work well with the intake.

    I would use the 36lbs. injectors in this application.

    Sounds like a good combo that should produce great avg. power and meet your goal of 350-450rwhp!

    I was concerned that the 205’s would have too much volume, dropping the velocity. Thus hurting the low end torque I would be using everyday, Do you agree? For me this is all guess work from what I have read. This will be my first project car build.

    The low end torque *could* diminish some if the combination was mismatched and the *peripherals* were not chosen to maximize a broad powerband.

    1. Elevating the static compression "can" bolster mid-range power production.
    2. Camshaft selection is very critical, as it is in any combo.
    3. Selecting an appropriate sized exhaust system, avoiding over/under scavenging.
    4. Creating more mechanical advantage with steeper gearing.

    It has been said time after time that it is easy to put too much cylinder head on the SBF. However, todays Efficient Cylinder Heads + "Smaller" Camshaft = Gigantic Torque, Monster Horsepower and Great Street Ability.
