Anybody on here have AAA? question...

Here's the deal, I need to get my car towed to Rodeheaver's to get some stuff done to it so I can get the car to Carlisle (it is not driveable right now).

My roommate has AAA and gets so many tows per year, as long as they are under 100 miles, which Rodeheaver's is like 63 or something from me. We are trying to figure out how I can use his coverage to get my car towed down there. He said that if he is in the car when it "breaks down" then his coverage will cover the tow of that car. But here's the problem, does he have to ride with the me to the destination the car is being taken to? He will have to work that day, and can't come with me, so I just need to make sure this will work.

    Any help is appreciated

I think you can just tell them to tow the car there and drop it off. And one of your friends can "give you a ride to your house", lol

Well I also need to go with the car, lol. I don't think this will be a problem, I just wanted to check with people on here and see what they think.

No, he doesn't have to ride with you. With your car I would get a couple of boards so when the flat bed comes and loads it it wont drag the front going up the bed. Just a friendly hint from a AAA flat bed driver..

all he has to do is call AAA and tell them the car is broke down at a certain location and he needs it towed to rodeheavers. he should request a flatbed while hes on the phone with AAA. i've help many people out using my aaa to tow there cars.

i went through this about 6 months ago when pulling my motor and getting the car towed to have some stuff done. i was out of AAA uses so i got another card off of someone. they just added it to his uses and i paid the extra miles. no questions were asked about it not being my card or anything. and like the above statements. most flatbed drivers keep a small selection of boards in the truck so they can get the car up without rubbing front end but make sure you have em just incase.

I have done this too. Just have him call and say he needs it towed to Tims. Should be fine...they are his tows he can do what he wants with them.

Ive had to do it with a rental car before that broke down at the Casino on me and my family when they came from NJ for a visit. That was a good time lol...

    Ok, sweet.

So let me clarify... I have my roommate call while he is with me and the car and he requests a flatbed, he tells them it has to be towed to Rodeheaver's now correct? Then I can ride with the car to Rodeheaver's, no questions asked?

Also, about the 100 mile trip stipulation, is that round trip? cuz round trip will be in the neighborhood of 130 miles.

Jeff, I didn't know you were a AAA tow truck driver, learn something new every day I guess

I am, Tim is just installing the headers while I'm having him fix the flywheel. The rest of the build will be done by me and Mike - smallville, whenever I get around to getting the rest of the parts. I needed to have the x-pipe modded to fit the LT's anyway, so I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Basically, with how my exhaust is setup, it makes it basically impossible to drop the tranny on jackstands, and my access to a lift is gone (at least before carlisle), so I had to do something.

Good luck with it! You should be fine with the AAA tow. I have had to have mine towed from my house to the shop before, and they never look at any information what so ever. Just make sure you have his info on you when you call and you should be golden!

I would offer you a tow, but it looks like you have it all taken care of!
