    Anyone ever drive an h3?

I dont know why but these have been catching my eye ever since i started looking for a daily driver. I have found a few at decent prices, but never driven one or knows anyone who has one.. Anyone know of any problems to these?

Was up kenny ross and looked at this one

    H3

I have driven the H3 and it is sincerely lacking in power! The v6 just does not cut it. If you are looking for a SUV, check out the Toyota FJ Cruiser. The Mrs. drives one daily and it is great. Alot more room than the H3 and way more powerful. Plus, it holds it's value better. Just my 2 cents. Good luck

i work at a hummer dealer and have driven quite a few. I dont like them at all. the 5.3 Alpha is nice, but pricey. But i think that they are a blindspot, i find them very hard to see out of.

what kind of mpg do these things get? I am just looking for something very comfortable, nice ride, looks good. decent gas mileage and i dont want a car and no need for a truck so that leaves an suv and these are the only ones i have liked so far. .. I plan on getting a bike once i move for nice days and the good gas ride.

I can't imagine them getting very good gas mileage. They are bulky per power ratio. Prolly pick up a nice used H2 fairly cheap with gas prices. Have a nice ride probaly same mileage.

That's because it's actually an inline 5 cylinder that GM puts in the Colorado/Canyon pick-up trucks. The '05 model had 225hp and the '06-up has 242hp. My wifey kinda liked them, too. Never drove one, but every article we read said it couldn't get out of it's own way. S---L---O---W. Not that you need enormous powa for an SUV, but some testers said they were afraid to pull out on a 50mph highway with it because of the terrible lack of accelleration. :o

They do look nice, though. I'm sure JJ's could find you an engine to swap in it.

id rather find a jeep liberty or a grand cherokee instead.... H3's arent cheap. not sure if you priced them yet. the alpha is over 40 grand and the regular one is in the low 30's

my DD is an H3. I really like it, but there are some better choices for sure. Ask me anything you want and I'll field the questions as honestly as possible. I've had it for almost 2 years now. It stayed stock for almost a week before I put on the bigger tires, so I can't say what gas mileage was going to be when it was stock, but I average around 13 mpg. It definitely lacks in power compared to a car, but its a nice easy cruiser IMO. I have a system in it too, so its makes a great DD for me.
I can take pics or anything if you want, seriously, its not a big deal and I'd be glad to help you out!

Scott, I looked at a H3 a few cars ago for the Mrs. and we didn't get it for the reasons stated above. Turd-like acceleration and poor economy (especially considering it has no power). Also went down the GC SRT-8 road before we got the Commander and when the Commander got totaled, but it was hard to find and lotsa $$. I'd say there's not much hope in getting 16+ with AWD and a 6.1 Hemi ( heck the 5.7 Hemi guys in the commander are getting 13-14 on average) , but it is certainly a cool SUV.

I'll agree with the turd like acceleration and poor economy, especially at higher speeds. You'll want to look elsewhere if you do a lot of highway driving.

You know it! lol j/k, hell no man

Scott, if you change your mind for some reason and want to drive mine, shoot me a PM. the bigger tires make it even slower though, just gotta warn ya!

Any guesses on what I'll get in the 1/4 mile? I'm thinking about taking it...

a friend has a TB SS and he really likes it, I've never been in a SRT GC though.
