Oil rises on price spike prediction

Is anyone else fed up with F'n "predictions" causing gas prices to go up? I mean what is going on here? I see no cause for this at all and a prediction can not justify the oil companies making more money. I am starting to think that the people making these predictions are paid by the oil companies so they can some how justify $7 price increases in one day.

My gas cost per month are killing me. I fill up the truck twice a week at around $80 each fill up! This is just crazy and if it keeps up I will need to sell both my car and truck so I can move into an apartment in walking distance of my work.

Here is a link to what caused me to freak out.

Oh it's awesome. I can't wait to pay more and more for gas. It would've been better if gradual, but an increase of more than $3.00/gal in the last 7 years?

In 2001 I could fill my Thunderbird (19.0 gal tank) for $23. And that was 93. This is outrageous. It costs me $50/week to fill up a damn Cavalier.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

Looks like you did what you could to stick it to them by using a bike. The only thing that bothers me about a bike would be the city drive.

A few days after Memorial Day, it took a big dip because nobody drove anywhere over the holiday weekend. Supposedley, it went from 132/barrel to 120/barrel. Prices at the local pump went from 3.95 to 3.91

This is a big WTF right here. Don't think that your local station ISN'T taking advantage of you when it's on the way back down.

    simple math $12 / 55 gallons = 21.8 cents.... NOT 4 CENTS.

    Nail on the head.

They're quick to jack up the price but don't want to take it back down.
Anybody have any experience in a gas station and how the pricing works? I'd be interested to hear it.

And I agree, I hate the speculation and bull crap like that, its just buying more into the expectation that prices are going to rise so its OK. Its not ****ing ok. There is no reason for them to be charging more when we're using less. Its not like they've lost any oil rigs lately or anything...

I just can't wait for the freekin' hurricaine season and see what it does to the oil rigs! Maybe $7 a gallon? We should get rid of all the tree huggers and drill it all our states which have plenty of oil reserves and screw the a-rabs!

So I was just shopping for my dad at south hills village and checking out the white Jag XF they have parked in there... and some weirdo came up to me and started talking to me immediately and asked if I knew about the Chevy Volt. I said no and started to find my way to admiring the rear of the car, hoping he wouldn't follow.. but he tagged along and told me all about it (mostly made up stuff, I know all about the car). But he was telling me how "his guy" who is never wrong told him that gas is going to be $7 a gallon next summer and all this other crap. I looked him square in the eye and said, you know what I think drives gas prices up? Idiots who speculate that the prices are going to go up. I think/hope that gas prices are pretty close to a peak/bubble and are going to fall back down around $100 a barrel soon enough.

I hate morons/bullshitters, and I hope they live a long and lonely life. Have I ever voiced that opinion here?
